We recommend using the newer KittyXplorer product. KittyXplorer provides the same safe encryption and preview capabilities as Ana's Archiver, it is much easier to use and includes more features. KittyXplorer is compatible with A2 and A2R encrypted files produced by Ana's Archiver (for AES, Blowfish, and Serpent). Ana's Archiver will not be supported anymore after 2008.

Features
Strong Encryption Software
- Strong symmetric encryption up to 448 bit in high level CBC stream cipher mode. Supports various encryption algorithms: AES up to 256 bit, Rijndael, 3DES, Blowfish up to 448 bit, Serpent, RC2, etc. Key generation is based on PKCS5 and SHA256 (SHA512 for Blowfish 448 bit).
- A custom AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) implementation is provided.
- Data deflate compression before encryption.
- Create and manipulate easy encrypted archives. The boundaries and names of individual files (and all other data) are encrypted.
- Supports having different passwords for the archive (directory head) and different ones for its file entries.

The application requires Microsoft .NET to be present in your system. Check this page for details how to obtain .NET for free. Supported operating systems: Windows 2000, XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista.
The download file is a Windows Installer MSI package (requires Windows Installer), or a zipped MSI file. To upgrade to a new version, you need to uninstall the old version. Then install the new version (to the same directory as the old one). You do not need to re-enter the registration key.
Register
You can download the application free of charge. The free version is, however, limited in several ways. To remove the limitations, you need to register your copy. The license enables running the software in a single machine.
License Option 1 - Multi Machine USB License
Price $59.95
The USB license enables running the software in any machine as any user, if you install it in a USB flash memory drive (data stick) and run it from there. This type of license will benefit the users that like to run the software on different computers and want to carry it in any place, using a USB flash memory device.
The USB License includes also one Single Machine License (see below). This way you can install the program in hard disk in one PC, and in the USB disk to carry around with you for use in other PCs.
The USB license enables running the software in any computer from any location. You need only to store the program and the license in a UBS flash memory stick device, and optionally the .NET run-time (20MB) to make sure that .NET is found in the target machine. You are no more connected to a single machine.
License Option 2 - Single Machine License
Price $19.95
This type of license enables running the software in a single machine. This is a cost effective type of license if you do not need to run the application from a USB drive. This is the type of license that most users need.

Free Tools
Several limited free tools are provided to ease the adoption and the distribution of the A2R strong-encrypted files:
- CryptMate LE (light edition) create and preview limited A2R archives.
- PocketAES encrypt files in a PocketPC or WindowsCE device. The encrypted files can be seen later on in desktop PC by using KittyXplorer.
- A2 command-line tool supports basic encrypted A2R archive operations.
