This page describes common steps to install, remove, or update our software.

Install

• Our applications requires Microsoft .NET to be present in your system. .NET is an update of the Microsoft Windows operating system. Check this page for details how to obtain .NET for free. If you already have .NET installed you do not need to re-install it.
• To install our software, download the corresponding installation program provided usually as an Windows Installer *.msi file, or as a zipped *.zip Windows Installer file. If it is zip file you may need to unzip the file first.
• Run (double-click) the downloaded installation program. Then follow on the screen instructions. To install a newer version first uninstall an older version it as described next, then re-install it.

Uninstall

You need to uninstall an old version of a program, when you want to install a newer version.

Close the program and run the uninstall program in the installation folder at Start / Programs / <ApplicationName>.

Alternatively, go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs and remove the program from the programs list.

If the Windows Installer information in your system is damaged, then you can also manually remove the shortcuts (delete them) and then delete the installation folder, usually found at C:\Program Files\myplanetsoft.com\. The programs do not write any data to registry, or to the system folders, and can be safely removed by deleting the files manually.

• In this case you need to fix your Windows Installer database using a free tool called Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from Microsoft:

  A local copy of this tool (Revision: 4.71) can be found here, but try to get the official one first. Download and execute it with administrator rights. The tool says it is for Microsoft Office, but actually it is a generic uninstaller tool for Windows. After you install this tool, run it (in Start menu programs - it is named Windows Install Clean Up) and select our corresponding program (the version of the installer is shown) and click Remove (screenshot).
  

Re-installation

To install a newer version first uninstall an older version, then reinstall it.

The Free Software Installation

The free software found in the site does not have automated install, or uninstall operations. To install unzip and copy / move the files. To uninstall, stop a program and delete its files.
